Directed by Jeff Newman, this original
adaptation interweaves elements from
the graphic novel, the film, &, of course,
elements unique to our story.
Family has always been at the heart of Tom McKenna’s life. Nothing is truer than this when protecting his friends & co-workers from criminals in his small town family diner.
In a matter of those few seconds though, Tom’s heroic measures begin to unlock questions about his past. What results is a man’s inner struggle of right versus wrong as he attempts to balance a quaint family life, an unspoken past with the mob, & the resultant backfire when his two worlds collide.
Important Dates:
- Auditions: Sat. Jan 17 from 10 am – 2 pm (5-minute slots available)
- Callbacks: Sun. Jan 17 from 3-4 pm (fight call) & 5-7:30 pm (cold readings)
- Rehearsals: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays (7-10 pm) & Sundays (10am - 2 pm)
- Performances: Thurs-Sat (8 pm) & Sun. (7 pm) from April 9th – 19th (Industry night, Mon. 4/13) at Prop Thtr

What to expect:
- Auditions will be in 5 minute slots between the times listed at 5244 N. Lakewood Ave. (North Shore Baptist Church).
During the audition you will perform your chosen monologue, meet the production team & chat with us. - Certain roles will require a fight audition from 3-4 pm; callbacks will consist of cold readings from the script.

- You will receive an automated confirmation email along with another follow-up email with additional detail.
What to prepare:
- Production Schedule & Online Audition Sheet
In your follow-up email, you will receive a copy of our schedule & a link to the audition sheet. Fill these out completely making sure to list all known & potential conflicts to the posted production schedule (including the Fight Call & Callback times on 1/17). Attach the documents & reply back to HistoryOfViolence@BareKnuckleProductions.org no later than midnight, the Friday before the auditions. If there are issues with internet/sending this out, please text 773-998-BNP1 by that same time in order to notify us of your situation; then print & bring that paperwork with you.

A print copy is not necessary, instead please email a copy of these to us at: HistoryOfViolence@BareKnuckleProductions.org. Use “HS/Res_(your name) in the subject line of the email.
- Monologue
Choose & prepare your best one-minute monologue of any genre & variety to show us your particular strengths as a performer.
- Violence
Certain roles require the performer to have previous violence (staged or traditional) experience, knowledge, & interest; those without that experience will be considered for other roles. Refer to the character breakdown on our website or on our facebook page.
